InDesign is used for the transformation of manuscript to layout. We are genre-agnostic, and can return paginated files for any design at short turnarounds. Our pages are top-notch quality, requiring minimal modifications, if at all any.
Pajeflow's copyeditor uses AI-assisted pre-edit to review and resolve anomalies or questionable usages in the manuscript. Inconsistencies across the book will be presented to the copyeditor in a single screen, and can be resolved efficiently and quickly.
Color conversion, relabelling, redrawing, scaling, cropping of images are some of the services offered. The system will automatically build an art log that will include every image uploaded for a chapter. A preview of every art and its metadata is available from within the editor.
Proofreading is performed online. An editable version of the proof pages allows textual edits, which are tracked by default. The changes can be automatically updated in the InDesign application files and revised proofs are generated with minimal manual intervention, thereby reducing the time taken by a minimum of 30%.
Your assigned contact will take over once you have handed over the project. This person will interface with the author, editor, indexer, and anyone else who is part of the project team and will take responsibility for returning the paginated proofs within the stipulated timeframe.
Electronic deliverables like EPUB and Web PDF can be made available when files are final. XML delivery to a custom DTD or schema is also possible through the system.
How does pajeflow work?
Pajeflow is your virtual production office. Read on to understand what you can expect if you are managing your prepress volumes with Pajeflow.
Infrastructure
Experience your dedicated virtual workspace. You get a Content Management System with built-in version control and disaster recovery, and an Author Portal. Access rights for internal and external users is configurable.
Workflow
Upload your manuscript and art files, alongwith the schedule and instructions, if any, to the Pajeflow site. Your designated project manager at Pajeflow will be informed immediately by email. If you are not using automated notifications, you can email your assigned contact in the traditional manner.

InDesign will be used for the layout. If you have a design or a template for the project, be sure to send that as well to Pajeflow. You will be notified when proofs are available for your review.
Transmittals
When you send the schedule and instructions, these will be immediately setup in the system. Automated reminders can be generated per your requirement, and this can be customized at a chapter level. Your calendar will be auto-populated with delivery dates, thereby allowing you to track the schedule easily.
Copyediting
You have the option of using your own copyeditor, who can be provided access to the manuscript. Your copyeditor can work in Word and submit the edited manuscript when it is complete. Alternatively, you can use a Pajeflow copyeditor, who will work within the system’s editor. An AI-enabled pre-edit highlights anomalies/questionable usages in the manuscript and the editor will vet these and confirm. Rather than focus on mundane stylistic nuances, the editor will now have more time to add value in substantive editing.
ILLUSTRATIONS
You can upload image files alongwith instructions on the type of service (color conversion, redraw, relabel, modify, etc.) required for each image. An art log of every image uploaded for a chapter will be automatically generated. Each image can be previewed with its metadata. Permissions data and alt-text for accessibility for each image can be recorded and tracked.
ProofREADing
You get the option of proofing online and transferring the textual changes to InDesign files with very minimal manual intervention. The task of a proofreader annotating PDF proof pages for a typesetter to interpret and transfer to InDesign is considerably simplified, and the time taken for the proofing cycle is reduced by a minimum of 30%.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Inform your assigned contact at Pajeflow as and when files, specifications and schedule have been uploaded for the project. Your project contact will coordinate with the various stakeholders and manage the production and delivery of your manuscript.
Queries and Comments
Queries and/or comments included in the manuscript can be identified as global where applicable. These will be automatically transferred to proofs if not resolved at editing stage. A Discussion Board can be set up for any pertinent exchanges around a query.
NOTIFICATIONS
You can set up automated notifications and reminders on the Pajeflow site so that you are aware of the progress of your manuscript. If you desire, your Pajeflow contact will be more than happy to email you when the paginated proofs/revises are ready and available for you to download.
DASHBOARD
What would you like to know? How many projects are currently in production? Or where these are at? Or who is working on the files? Real-time reports can be viewed on the dashboard, and these can be configured to your business needs.
TURNAROUND
Standard turnaround for delivering proofs for a 300-page project is 3 to 5 days, sometimes less than 24 hours.
